Daniel was an early entrepreneur starting at the age of 8 years old with an aquarium and then a t-shirt business at 14. Throughout high school, he partnered with a car detailing franchise providing cleaning services. During his college years, he joined a brokerage firm and spent the next three years working on Wall Street.
Armed with this newly acquired financial knowledge, it was clear to Daniel that he needed to return to entrepreneurship and build a business that combined finance and the growing opportunities of the Internet. In the year 2000, he banded with three friends and raised $200,000 to start an online trading business that was acquired within six months by Argentina’s largest financial player at that time.
As his nimble company of four grew to 85+ employees, Daniel struggled to cope with the pressures of scaling up. It was then that Daniel met his future mentor and business partner, Verne Harnish. Enrolling in Verne’s MIT course “Birthing of Giants” (now “Entrepreneurial Master Program”) was the best and most pivotal decision of his career. It not only gave Daniel the foundation and methodology to scale his business successfully, but it also led him to help launch a community of “titans” who continue to network, support, and mentor each other to this day.
Daniel’s next venture launched just before the untimely market crash of 2008 and quickly shut down, taking on $1 million in debt. It was the lowest point in his life, driving him away from entrepreneurship towards a stable job. Once again, Verne Harnish popped into Daniel’s life at just the right time, offering him a coaching position—not letting Daniel wallow or give up on entrepreneurship.
Despite this setback, Daniel had an abundance of experience and success under his belt, making the “30 under 30” list in Expansion Magazine at only 28. Within six months, Daniel turned his life around and moved his family to Austin, Texas, and his partnership with Verne started to develop.
Over a weekend trip to Barcelona, they came up with the idea behind Growth Institute —born from Daniel’s vision to help entrepreneurs successfully scale their companies while maintaining a high quality of life. With over 40,000 members across 64 countries, Growth Institute has made the list of the top 5,000 fastest-growing companies in the USA for the third time in 2020.
